ManyChat Pro Tips

Are you using ManyChat like a pro?

We’ve compiled some of our best tips and most-asked questions to make automating your Amazon business with ManyChat and Seller.Tools a breeze.

With these ‘Pro Tips’, you’ll be on your way to expert status in no time.

1. Use ManyChat templates to download, customize, and manage flows with simplicity and ease.

We’ve been offering free flows that will help you get up and running automating your Amazon business using Seller.Tools and ManyChat for over a year now, and we recently made it easier than ever to download and configure these flows. When you install a flow from Seller.Tools, you’ll now install a template.

With this feature, ManyChat almost completely eliminated the need to manually customize and set up key parts of these flows. Now, you’ll be taken through a simple setup wizard to input a few key pieces of information, then you’ll nearly be ready to go.

Here’s a snapshot of a step in our setup wizard. This step asks for your API key and now inputs it in every necessary location across the flow. No need to go hunting for things to edit!

Additionally, if you are running a ManyChat agency, this is a fantastic way to remotely manage and easily install and uninstall flows for your clients. With the ‘remote control’ feature, you can fully control how your flows are distributed and even uninstall them if a client stops working with you!

Here’s a quick breakdown on the 3 levels of template protection:

Protect template: Enable this to protect the Template from copying or recreating

Lock for editing: Enable this to protect the Template from editing and viewing

Remote Control: Enable this to be able to see who installed your template: you can disable it anytime for any particular installation

2. Eliminate bad actors with Seller.Tools abuse protection

Did you know that we developed a nearly foolproof way to keep people from taking advantage of your rebate automations? Now, when you create a gift card for a user, the order ID that was verified with their order will effectively be marked as ‘used’ for creating new gift cards in the future.

If they try to go through your flow again with the same order ID, a new gift card will not be created and they will simply be emailed the original gift card again – even if they create a brand new Facebook account!

You can take this a step further and use any piece of information to identify your customers and add additional reference parameters to your external request for further protection and customization.

A few more advanced use cases:

Email Address: If you’re serving your rebate offer to a completely cold, new audience each time and DO NOT want to create a ‘VIP’ group or have repeat customers

Street Address (Address Line 1): If you want to offer a ‘one per household’ sort of offer

Amazon Hashed Email: This will act as a stand-in for Amazon’s buyer ID for the greatest level of protection

3. Manually send gift cards to customers in seconds in your Seller.Tools Wallet

Did you know that you can create gift cards for your customers without even leaving Seller.Tools? Many people know about creating gift cards for customers through the Seller.Tools API, but if you have an isolated case where you need a gift card for a customer quickly, you can easily create and send one in your Seller.Tools account.

This is an awesome solution if you are following up on a customer complaint or just creating a gift card for a customer who ‘broke’ your flow with their own responses.

How to do this:

  1. Navigate to your Seller.Tools Wallet and make sure you have adequate funds in your account to create a gift card.
  2. Click ‘Send Gift Card’
  3. Fill out the required fields for Gift Card Type, the marketplace, email, and amount.

That’s it! The gift card will automatically be emailed to your customer, and you’ll see the transaction tracked in your Wallet overview. You’ll also have access to their redemption link in case they do not receive the email for some reason, and you can send them their GC directly.

Note: If you have Abuse Protection (Step 2) configured in ManyChat, this will not apply in the same way to these manual gift cards.

If you’re already using rebate automation, or simply worried about the idea of creating value for customers and not being able to track down the links in case they don’t receive the email, we’ve got you covered.

We even have common troubleshooting and customer support built into our Rebate Automation flow, and will automatically send your customer a direct link to their gift card without having to involve your team to find and send it manually.

However, if you find that you want or need to find a customer’s gift card yourself, you can do this in a few ways.

In the Seller.Tools Wallet, you can track down your Wallet transaction and directly copy the customers’ gift card link here in the ‘Actions’ section to send to them in seconds. You can also resend the email to their email address right from your Wallet.

Pro Tip: Tracking opens and redemption rates of gift cards? No problem! You can even check out the email logs to see how the user has interacted with their email and gift card link in the Email Logs.

Another way is right in ManyChat. When a gift card is created, we automatically save the gift card link to a custom field that will be saved in that user’s profile. By navigating to Audience, looking up your customer, and getting the contents of the custom field ‘ST Rebate Automation Gift Card Link or Code’, you can easily find their gift card links.

You could even create a Google Sheet and export this customer information (including name, links, order ID, etc) to really centralize and organize this information!

5. Use the Seller.Tools Counter API to limit the number of promotions or rebates given away each day

Our team developed a powerful solution that will enable you to completely customize your promotions, giveaways, and rebate offerings, and dial in on the exact number of promotions you want to give away each day or week, without manually resetting your flows and Facebook Ads.

You can read more about this solution and download the flow elements for FREE here!

Limiting your promotions with a daily counter is a huge step towards running an enterprise-level operation.

6. Make sure you’re saving your email and phone numbers to System Fields for easy follow up

Worried about how Messenger policy changes will impact your Messenger marketing strategy? This will help.

ManyChat now gives you the power to save vital customer information to standardized fields that make it incredibly easy to send emails and SMS messages right in your existing flows, even if your customer has not interacted with your bot within the past 24h.

This is built into our flows, but if you are capturing user information in any other flows, be sure to set this up by saving responses to system fields and adding email and SMS opt-ins.

Here’s an awesome resource from ManyChat on how to effectively use System Fields for email and phone numbers to make follow up outside of the 24 hour period easier.

We’re optimistic these Pro Tips will quickly get you on your way to becoming a Seller.Tools and ManyChat master.
